Legal impacts of it

Copyright laws help prevent people taking information that they don’t legally own from others. On the internet data is very easily taken from others illegally through various techniques. Because of this there are new copyright laws in place that makes it illegal to do so. When the internet wasn’t available, there were a lot less copyright laws because no one could take information from others easily. Now we can get hold of music from a lot of places on the internet that breach copyright laws, whereas back then, the only way you could copy music illegally would be to record it, also loosing quality while you do so.

On the internet, people take information that others have posted and post it as their own information. This is plagiarism. Also this breaches the copyright act as the information they are posting is not their own. This has become a problem on the internet with people taking other peoples information, changing it slightly and saying they wrote it themselves. When we were only using books for information, this would be a lot harder because you would have to write out the entire book rather than simply copy and pasting it.
